DR. TOM BURNS
Senior Vice President, Parsons, 1993 Campbell Trophy Recipient
Dr. Tom Burns, was the 1993 Campbell Trophy winner and is currently the Senior Vice President/Deputy Project Manager/Director of Engineering for Parsons’ Salt Waste Processing Facility. Prior to joining Parsons, Dr. Burns served as both an Executive Engineer with MPR Associates providing consulting support services to DOE and commercial nuclear industry clients and as a Senior Technical Staff member for the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board. Prior to joining the DNFSB staff, Dr. Burns has served as a research associate at both national and international laboratories including, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, and the Commissariat a l’Energie Atomique at Cadarche, France. Dr. Burns is a graduate of the University of Virginia, having earned his undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Nuclear Engineering.
